I am technically savvy, but do not proclaim to be an expert in this particular area of post production, but I can figure most things out. I keep trying the same things hoping they will work, but clearly I am missing something. I have tried to figure this out on different machines with both ubuntu and the paragon software, and have even switched out the CRU for a different one, but have had no luck. At this point, the copy went about 6GB and then the machine restarted. I stopped the transfer, reformatted the CRU to EXT 3 again and started over. When I returned this morning it had only copied 10 more GB in the 16 hours I had left it, and it seemed to be stalled out. I really thought that this was going to do it, but since it was taking forever to copy (I assume because it needed to wrap the data in the proper format while copying) I left it when it had copied about 30GB in 90 minutes to copy overnight. For this I copied the DCP to my desktop with the hope of removing the additional external from the transfer, and I was able to open the EXT3 drive on my OSX and begin the copy of the DCP to the CRU. The other method I tried was using the paragon software EXTFs for Mac. I tried this method on another machine and got the same result. Sometimes this would happen after 4GBs had transferred, sometimes more, sometimes less - the most it ever got was 20GB of the 87GB. After opening the permissions, I copied the folder containing all of the necessary DCP files from the OS Journaled seagate drive to the EXT3 drive - simple enough, this is exactly how I had done it before, but this time every time I tried the copy the transfer would freeze the screen after the transfer started. I used terminal to remove the restrictions from the drive so that I could copy to it using the chmod 777 (I am not worried about the security measures for this purpose) command. I created a bootable Ubuntu flash drive, booted up the iMac with it, and hooked up my two drives. The drive that currently has the DCP (80GBs of data) is a 2TB seagate with USB3 and the CRU is a 500GB EXT 3 formatted. To preface I am using a late 2012 iMac running Mavericks with these specs: 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7đ.12 TB Fusion DriveĘ GB 1600 MHz DDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 MB I have tried a ton of different things, which I will detail, and hopefully if anybody out there knows what to do you will literally be my savior. I had done it before, so I thought I knew what I was doing, but apparently not. (I’m hoping both utilities will eventually be consolidated into a single app.I have been going through a bit of an odyssey the last two days trying to get my DCP that was created using EasyDCP on Mavericks OSX from the MacOS Journaled formatted drive that it is currently on to the CRU EXT3 formatted drive that I need to deliver the DCP. If you already have Paragon ExtFS for Mac 11 installed (which provides similar read/write access for Linux volumes), you’ll wind up with two identical menu bar apps, but it’s easy to disable one or both via preferences. Mount or unmount any volume on your Mac using the optional menu bar app in Paragon NTFS for Mac 15.Īs someone who already has too many menu bar icons, this feature seemed gratuitous at first, but I soon found myself using it often. You can also mount or eject disks from the menu bar, thanks to a helper app that works even when the main application is closed. The app includes options to enable Spotlight indexing, mount disks read-only, or disable auto-mount on a per-volume basis. There’s even a lovely color-coded space indicator like the one introduced with Mac OS X El Capitan, displaying content by Audio, Video, Apps, Images, and Other categories. Dual-boot users also have the option to reboot into a compatible mounted Mac or Windows startup volume. I’m happy to report version 15 restores the ability to format NTFS drives alongside the usual Mac OS Extended, exFAT, and FAT options, but the software now works as a standalone application as well.Īnd what a gorgeous app it is! The user interface is tastefully designed, with buttons for mounting, unmounting, verifying, or erasing the selected volume. NTFS for Mac 14, formatting tools were briefly exiled to System Preferences after years of working directly inside Apple’s Disk Utility. Paragon NTFS for Mac 15: Hey, good-lookin’ Now available as a standalone app, Paragon NTFS for Mac 15 features a gorgeous new user interface.
